Full Job Description
New Car Sales Director

Grapevine, Texas • Full-time • Reports to the General Manager

Grubbs Volvo Cars Grapevine is hiring a New Car Sales Director to run our new vehicle department. This is a department-ownership seat with real authority. You will own volume, gross, inventory, desking, and the development of the people who produce all three.

What You'll Own

  • New vehicle volume against factory objective, monthly and annually.
  • New vehicle gross - front and back, working alongside F&I on PVR.
  • Desking and deal structure. You have full authority here. Every deal gets seen by someone who knows the math.
  • Inventory - stocking mix, ordering and allocation, aged unit policy, and floorplan expense.
  • Volvo factory programs - incentives, allocation, certification requirements, and scorecard performance.
  • People development - sales managers and salespeople. Documented one-on-ones, ride-alongs, and a real training cadence, not just a Monday save-a-deal meeting.
  • Lead handling and response time with the BDC and internet team.
  • The delivery process, including the handoff to our Service department.
  • Volvo CSI / CX scorecard performance for new vehicle sales.
  • Hiring, onboarding, and retention of the sales team.

Scope, stated plainly:

You own desking, inventory, process, and people. Sales team pay plans are set by the General Manager - you will have input and a voice in the room, but not unilateral authority. We would rather you know that now than find it out in month three.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in dealership sales management, including at least 2 years in a general sales manager, sales director, or desk manager seat
  • Demonstrated performance against factory objective - not just gross stories
  • Real command of inventory. You can explain your stocking logic and your aged-unit policy without looking anything up.
  • Comfort with a data-driven store. We run on numbers and we share them with the team.
  • Experience with V-Auto and Tekion is a huge plus.
  • A track record of developing people. We will ask for names and where they are now.
  • Luxury or import experience preferred. Volvo experience is a plus, not a requirement.
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record

Schedule and Availability

This is a full time position. Schedule will be discussed during the interview process based on operational needs. Occasional after hours or weekend availability may be required for urgent repairs.
