Overview:

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and support secure network solutions that protect enterprise systems, users, and data. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Zscaler or similar Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)/Security Service Edge (SSE) platforms, along with a strong understanding of Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA) principles, network segmentation, secure remote access, and cloud-delivered security controls. This role works closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to enhance network security, reduce risk, and enable secure access across on-premises and cloud environments while ensuring reliable and efficient network operations.

Essential Functions:
  • Maintains and monitors operations of Cyber Security technologies for efficiency, availability, and security.
  • Leads or assists with functional or technical delivery of Cyber Security solutions to end users as an individual contributor or team member based on guidance from team leadership.
  • Leads or assists with the analysis, design, and technical implementation of Nationwide Children's Hospital Cyber Security initiatives, including include requirements gathering and translation between business terms and technical requirements.
  • Serves as an escalation point for operational issues related to the Cyber Security infrastructure and processes, including occasional after-hours support.
  • Contributes to or leads the evaluation and determination of software tools and operational feasibility of solutions.
  • Partners with vendors to optimize software configurations while ensuring high availability and ease-of-use.
  • Develops training materials for primary support roles as well as system documentation, including DR plans.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with immediate team members, project teams, other internal IT departments, customers, end-users, and external contacts.

Skills:
