We Are Seeking
Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer I ready to keep a growing city's technology running strong. In this role, you'll support and maintain enterprise systems across our data center - both physical and virtual - and partner directly with staff and stakeholders to shape where our technology goes next while advising leadership on risk. You'll get hands-on with the full stack of the Town's network: analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, and wireless equipment.

Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Architect, install, and support connectivity for the Town's LAN/WAN network, solving complex problems that keep services running smoothly for the people who rely on them;
  • Lead the implementation of enterprise networking systems, bringing your expertise to project meetings that shape what equipment and solutions we choose;
  • Serve as a go-to technical resource for your teammates, helping the whole team deliver better service;
  • Bring your judgment to the table - you'll have real ownership in shaping recommendations, not just following a script;
  • Architect, manage, and support backup solutions that keep systems and applications highly available and running when it counts;
