We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support complex LAN/WAN environments within a mission-focused operational setting. This role is responsible for the planning, design, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure supporting critical operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Cisco-based networking environments, routing protocols, VPN technologies, and network security devices in secure enterprise environments.
- Analyze, design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN network environments
- Support routers, switches, gateways, firewalls, encryption devices, and communication systems
- Troubleshoot interoperability and connectivity issues across multiple platforms and systems
- Configure systems based on operational and user requirements
- Perform testing, validation, documentation, and technical analysis
- Provide network administration, technical support, and troubleshooting assistance
- Support network layout and infrastructure design efforts
- Assist with network security administration and system optimization
- Develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation
- May serve as a technical lead or team lead depending on assignment
Required Skills and Education- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN communications and network infrastructure
- Experience with Juniper, Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls
- Experience supporting encryption technologies such as TACLANE devices
- Strong understanding of routing protocols including:
- Experience with:
- MPLS
- VPLS
- VPN technologies
- Traffic engineering
- Experience in the deployment and optimization of hardware configurations.
- Serve as contact for customers experiencing network connectivity and performance issues.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work onsite in Quantico, VA
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of relevant network engineering experience
