Full Job Description
SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a reliable, experienced, NCIDQ Qualified Interior Designer to work full time for SJS Executives supporting a Federal Medical Facility in San Francisco supporting ongoing construction operations supporting their Master Plan.

This is a Remote, Full-Time position, with occasional travel to San Francisco required.

The salary range for this position is $55/hr to $58/hr. SJS also offers 11 paid federal holidays, 80 hours of PTO accrual, medical, dental, vision, and a variety of additional benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide interior design support for healthcare facility construction, renovation, and modernization projects.
  • Develop interior design concepts, finish selections, color palettes, material specifications, and space planning solutions.
  • Coordinate the planning, selection, procurement, installation, and management of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E).
  • Review architectural and engineering design submittals for compliance with federal standards, facility requirements, and healthcare design guidelines.
  • Support requirements development activities for facility improvement, renovation, and construction projects.
  • Perform site assessments and field investigations to identify project requirements and existing conditions.
  • Provide construction representative services, including site inspections, punch list development, and verification of design intent.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, facility staff, and stakeholders throughout project execution.
  • Support procurement and logistics activities related to furniture, furnishings, equipment, and interior finishes.
  • Manage artwork, decorative furnishings, signage, and wayfinding initiatives in accordance with facility standards.
  • Track, document, and assist in resolving Environment of Care (EOC) deficiencies and related corrective actions.
  • Prepare project documentation, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate records of furniture inventories, finish schedules, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, life safety standards, and healthcare design best practices.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and facility planning initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be qualified to take the NCIDQ certification tests.
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Prefer minimum of 5 years of professional interior design experience supporting healthcare, government, institutional, or commercial facilities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare facility design principles, space planning, and FF&E management.
  • Experience reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with federal facility design standards, accessibility requirements, and life safety codes.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and other design-related software.
  • Experience supporting construction projects, renovations, or facility improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to conduct field assessments and inspections in active healthcare environments.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of procurement, logistics, and inventory management processes is preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
