Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Murex Developer to join a leading banking client in Toronto. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, enhancement, and support of the Murex platform across front-office, middle-office, risk, and back-office functions.
This position requires strong technical expertise in Murex, a solid understanding of capital markets, and prior experience working within a banking or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure, and support Murex solutions across multiple business areas.
- Implement enhancements and support activities within the Murex MX.3 platform.
- Develop and maintain interfaces, workflows, reports, and batch processes.
- Support trade lifecycle processing, market data, pricing, risk calculations, and settlement activities.
- Collaborate with traders, business analysts, risk teams, operations, and technology stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Participate in system upgrades, releases, and platform optimization initiatives.
- Develop technical documentation and adhere to banking governance and compliance standards.
- Contribute to Agile development and delivery practices.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
Must Have
- 5+ years of hands-on Murex development experience.
- Previous banking or capital markets experience is mandatory.
- Strong experience with Murex MX.3.
- Experience working with:
- MxML Exchange
- Datamart
- Workflows
- Interfaces and reporting
- Strong SQL development skills.
- Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle management and capital markets operations.
- Experience supporting one or more asset classes:
- Fixed Income
- FX
- Equities
- Derivatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Murex upgrades and migrations.
- Exposure to market risk and regulatory reporting initiatives.
- Experience with Java and/or Python.
- Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in large enterprise banking environments.
