What You Will Be Doing:You will own hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator prototypes. You will solve multidisciplinary engineering problems that are necessary for deploying fusion energy to the world and act as a culture driver on a growing team. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager at our Everett, WA office.
You Will:- Enhancing Helion's analysis workflow for critical structures (electromagnets)
- Running transient multiphysics finite-element models to generate margins for critical designs
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team to improve critical hardware designs
- Learning from in-house experts to expand your skillset into electrical and thermal analysis
- Building software tools to automate the analysis workflow and allow Helion engineers and scientists to run their own analysis
Required Skills:- You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, applied mathematics, physics or related field with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience.
- Strong background in analytical, computational and numerical simulation methods
- A foundation of understanding of electromagnetic and thermal finite element modeling
- Experience in taking on analysis problems from formulation through testing and model correlation.
- Proficiency with multiphysics finite-element analysis tools such as COSMOL, ANSYS, Opera or equivalent
- Experience with programming environments (Matlab, Python, etc.) for scripting, tooling or data analysis
- Desire to positively impact complex structural designs, rather than just execute on analysis
