Standard Job DescriptionThe Shipping & Warehousing ASC Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction for site Shipping, Transportation, Warehousing, and Material Management operations supporting both the Chelmsford and Andover facilities. This position will lead a team of leaders and employees responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient movement, storage, and delivery of material throughout the organization.
The ASC Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing processes that support a growing multi-site operation, including the expansion of transportation capabilities and the establishment of effective processes for off-site warehousing and material movement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and direction to Shipping, Transportation, Warehousing, and Material Management functions across the Chelmsford and Andover sites.
- Serve as a leader of leaders, with direct responsibility for a Stockroom Supervisor and other functional leadership as the organization grows.
- Oversee stockroom operations including:
- Material management
- Kitting and kit delivery
- Cycle counting and inventory accuracy
- Material storage and organization
- Support of production and shop-floor material requirements
- Lead and develop the Shipping and Transportation organization, including expanding the team and establishing transportation capabilities to support site growth.
- Manage shipping and transportation operations across both Chelmsford and Andover, ensuring material moves efficiently between facilities and to external customers and suppliers.
- Develop and implement processes, procedures, and performance metrics for off-site warehousing, transportation, and inter-site material movement.
- Maintain appropriate levels of shop supplies and chemical inventory and oversee associated ordering activities.
- Provide oversight and coordination of the INCORA relationship, ensuring material support and business requirements are effectively managed.
- Obtain and maintain required HAZMAT shipping certification and provide site-level leadership for compliant hazardous material shipping activities.
- Serve as the site 1LMX EWM Super User, supporting implementation, testing, training, troubleshooting, and continued adoption of EWM processes.
- Partner with Production Planning & Control, Operations, Facilities, Quality, Safety, Finance, and other functional organizations to resolve material and logistics issues.
- Establish standard work and continuous improvement initiatives to improve material flow, inventory accuracy, transportation efficiency, and customer service.
- Develop staffing plans and organizational structures to support continued growth at both Chelmsford and Andover.
- Monitor operational performance, identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure customer and production requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, transportation regulations, HAZMAT requirements, and site procedures.
- Support implementation of new systems, processes, and organizational initiatives that impact warehousing, shipping, transportation, and material management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Business, or a related field with 5+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within warehousing, logistics, shipping, transportation, material management, or supply chain operations.
- Experience leading teams through supervisors or other front-line leaders.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, material flow, warehousing, and shipping operations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and standard work.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Desired Skills- Experience managing multi-site warehouse, shipping, or transportation operations.
- Experience supporting off-site warehouses or third-party logistics providers.
- Experience with HAZMAT/DOT shipping requirements and certification.
- Experience with aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, or other supply chain certifications.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $100200.00 - $186200.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
