Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Semiconductor Quality Engineering & Continuous Improvement Manager to lead operational excellence initiatives across the organization. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement, built-in quality, and operational discipline within semiconductor manufacturing and high-technology environments.
The ideal candidate will combine strong Semiconductor Quality Engineering experience with Lean Manufacturing expertise to improve process capability, increase yield, reduce variation, strengthen compliance, and support scalable operational growth.
This position is funded by DoD and requires candidates to meet the definition of US person as defined in as defined by 22 C.F.R. a7 120.62 and 15 C.F.R. a7 772.1.
Essential Duties:
Lead the organizations continuous improvement strategy using Lean Manufacturing and operational excellence methodologies.
Drive initiatives to reduce waste, improve cycle time, increase throughput, improve yield, and enhance product quality.
Facilitate Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and root cause investigations.
Support semiconductor manufacturing operations through implementation of quality engineering methodologies.
Develop and maintain process control plans, inspection criteria, sampling plans, and SPC systems.
Lead investigations into process deviations, customer complaints, yield excursions, and nonconformances.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO/AS standards and QMS requirements.
Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, quality documentation, and operational controls.
Establish and monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and performance dashboards.
Provide training and coaching on Lean principles, quality tools, and semiconductor quality practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and leadership teams.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline.
ASQ certifications such as CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Experience in semiconductor fabrication, semiconductor packaging, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ERP, MES, QMS, and manufacturing analytics systems.
Experience supporting customer-facing audits and supplier quality initiatives.
Key Qualifications & Experience
In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles including KAIZEN, Kanban, 5S, Standardized Work, JIT, takt time, Poka-Yoke, visual management, TPS, and JIDOKA.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies including DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, and Root Cause Analysis.
Proficiency in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, SPC, MSA, Cp/Cpk, and QMS management.
Experience implementing and improving ISO 9001, AS9100, and semiconductor quality standards.
Hands-on semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, cleanroom, or electronics manufacturing experience.
Strong leadership, project management, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
Expertise in process mapping, risk analysis, operational analytics, and data-driven decision making.
Excellent communication, technical writing, document control, and records management skills
