Overview
Overall responsibilities for management and leadership of the following activities, which include but are not limited to: Snowmaking, Grooming, V&E, Construction, Building Maintenance, Property Maintenance, Security, Parking, Transportation, Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, Ski/Bike Patrol, Terrain Parks, Mountain Bike Operations, and work with third party Race and Freestyle programs. Work with Operations Administrative Assistant. Manage capital budgets and projects. Overall risk management of the resort.
Responsibilities
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
Directs reports to ensure guidance and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Directs administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing to ensure proper planning, efficient operation of departments and successful achievement of resort goals.
Maintains and enhances a guest-focused culture in all areas of responsibility.
Maintains current status on legal issues and technological advances, which impact the industry; maintains awareness of scope and progress of competition.
Ability to delegate responsibility, motivate and lead direct reports to achieve goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, budgets, implements with department managers to handle operations plans and execution of plans.
Plans, budgets, implements on capital improvement projects with in house departments and sub-contracted labor.
Works with management to coordinate information and all activities related to operational departments.
Represents resort at industry specific functions and local community as necessary to contribute to operation information flow.
Lead, delegate, set goals and follow through on execution of plans.
Maintains and enhances a guest focused culture in all areas of responsibility.
Familiarity with state, federal, environmental, and company standards such as OSHA regulations, SPCC, Company Emergency Procedures, Safety training, and Inspections.
Understands and implements corporate directives and company policies and procedures.
Coordinate responsibilities and operations with other senior staff and division heads to achieve efficient, smooth-working operation.
Maintain schedules and skiing facilities in accordance with regulations and authorities having jurisdiction; manage responsibilities in complete compliance with Loon Mountain safety policies.
Coordinate MOD schedule and act as Primary MOD.
Physically capable of winter and summer field review of construction projects, skiing product, maintenance, permit compliance and guest service. Advanced level skier/rider for all terrain.
Work with the General Manager and Senior team on daily issues and other special projects.
Other duties may be required with special or emergency situations
RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:
Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and resort guests at all times.
Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor.
Report safety-related accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor.
Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
Drive in accordance with the law and resort policies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages, coaches, and motivates assigned departments to achieve set goals. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Five plus year's previous experience in an operational department and Supervisory experience. Strong leadership experience in the ski industry or hospitality field a plus. Ability to handle public speaking and negotiating tasks. Knowledge and participation in winter and summer sports. Proficient in Microsoft office.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak before a group of customers or team members. Ability to read, analyze and interpret journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of business community. Present information to management.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills are required.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License required. Ability to solve practical problems quickly and apply common sense of knowledge.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENTWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to set and or humid conditions or even extreme weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
