What you will be doing:

The Mortgage Solutions Manager is responsible providing peace of mind to clients and building loyalty by providing customized mortgage solutions and advice. You will use your expertise to manage the full journey of new mortgage acquisition, from lead to funding. This role focuses exclusively on new to bank mortgages, including purchase transactions, switches from other financial institutions, and new Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs). You will deliver a seamless, consultative experience that helps clients make informed decisions while driving business growth. You will act as the primary point of contact of clients that are selecting Tangerine to support them on their home-buying needs, responsible for guiding clients through the end-to-end mortgage journey.

You are responsible for making the process seamless and easy for clients to understand. Key responsibilities will include building and maintaining strong relationships by following disciplined sales-development activities to deliver an exemplary mortgage advisory experience.

You are expected to initiate every client conversation with open-ended questions to uncover and validate the client's goals and objectives. This allows you to apply your deep subject matter expertise to present tailored mortgage options and, where appropriate, provide a clear recommendation.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Utilize your banking and secured lending expertise to provide tailored mortgage advice that aligns with clients' financial goals and objectives.
  • Be a Secured Lending subject matter expert acting as the face of Tangerine Secured Lending with our clients.
  • Prioritize client experience and take initiative to provide tailored advice and solutions to clients by developing & maintaining mortgage expertise, focused on client needs, market conditions and the Canadian residential mortgage market to equip yourself and your colleagues to win the confidence & loyalty of our clients.
  • Actively manage an assigned portfolio of both potential and existing mortgage clients that have submitted mortgage applications or been identified via bank-sourced leads.
  • Sourcing & acquiring new mortgage clients through referrals, outbound effort, and referral partners.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to funding.
  • Qualifying and converting leads, proactively sourcing new mortgage opportunities through outbound calling campaigns, and guiding clients through pre-approval, application, and funding.
  • Accountable for achieving monthly mortgage origination targets and identifying opportunities for cross-sell and referrals to other Tangerine products and services.
  • Managing a pipeline of all applications and related tasks & activities to ensure applications are progressing towards funding in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters, to facilitate timely mortgage approvals and closing while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Partnering effectively with colleague in other business lines to identify referral opportunities to aid the delivery of a fulsome financial product offering with the goal of deepening client relationships
  • Guiding clients along the fulfillment process by promptly communicating required documents and updates, setting expectations on next steps and being open and initiative-taking to seeking alternative solutions.
  • Accountable for achieving monthly mortgage sales targets and effectively cross-selling other Tangerine products and services.
  • Function as a resource for questions or issues concerning mortgage policies and procedures to manage the bank's risk.
  • Assessment of any additional information sought/received within the agreed upon service levels.
  • Consult with the Underwriting department to ensure all documents are received, validated and complete.
  • Responsible for meeting Customer Service levels in relation to emails and phone messages.

Education/Experience
  • University or College Degree in a business discipline is an asset.
  • Sales experience is required.
  • Underwriting and fulfillment experience is preferred.


Specialized Knowledge
  • Administrative knowledge and skills in documentation required to meet lending guidelines.
  • Be fully knowledgeable and staying current with respect to Tangerine Bank products, services, policies, and procedures.
  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the mortgage product, both Tangerine specific as well as from the market in general
  • Outbound calling capabilities; establishing credibility with clients and earning their trust and business.


Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of proven success in the mortgage industry, or a related field.
  • Strong commitment to trust development, client experience, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to succeed in a variable compensation, sales environment.
  • High proficiency with all MS Office products.
  • Fluency in both English and French is an asset.
