Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Redwater complex is actively hiring a Millwright Journeyman to join the team. This position reports to the Foreman, Mechanical in the Liquids Transportation & Fractionation Operations.
The Millwright Tradesperson will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our facilities by performing installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing stationary industrial mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will act as a technical specialist, providing leadership, planning, and coordination for apprentices, contractors, and maintenance crews.

The Redwater Complex is a key asset within Pembina's Liquids Transportation & Fractionation Operations, providing NGL fractionation, storage, logistics, and distribution services across North America. Fractionation separates mixed NGL streams into individual products, including ethane, propane, and butane.

Liquids Transportation & Fractionation is a critical part of Pembina's integrated midstream value chain, connecting producers and customers through the safe, reliable transportation, storage, and processing of hydrocarbon liquids. This business area manages a network of pipelines, terminals, caverns, and fractionation facilities that move and transform natural gas liquids (NGLs) into valuable products such as propane, butane, and condensate. Working within this team means contributing to complex operations that support North American energy markets, optimize product value, and deliver reliable service to customers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Champion Pembina's Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and commissioning of mechanical and rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, meters, fans, and associated systems;
  • Execute preventative maintenance, equipment overhauls, facility turnarounds, and non-routine maintenance activities;
  • Utilize SAP and maintenance management systems to manage work orders, notifications, inventory, and maintenance records;
  • Support the design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of new facilities and equipment;
  • Serve as a technical resource, providing mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior tradespeople;
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Technical Services, Operations, contractors, and equipment vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and maintain equipment reliability;
  • Lead and work alongside specialized maintenance activities on rotating equipment, including compressors, pumps, seals, gearboxes, heat exchangers, turbines, and air handling systems;
  • Coordinate maintenance activities during facility shutdowns and support cross-functional operational requirements;
  • Develop and participate in safety procedures, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Ensure the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, and protection of personnel, assets, equipment, and the environment while collaborating with other trades as required;
  • Support departmental budgets, forecasting, and cost management through effective use of labour, materials, and contractor resources;
  • Obtain vendor quotations and support equipment replacement, repair planning, and maintenance optimization;
  • Maintain and demonstrate accountability for Pembina tools, equipment, vehicles, and other company assets;
  • Participate in a 7-day on-call rotation and work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, as operational requirements dictate; and
  • Support and participate in an inclusive diverse workplace.


Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Millwright or equivalent recognized Mechanical Maintenance trade certification;
  • 10+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial or energy-related environment;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, schematics, and P&IDs;
  • Machining experience is considered an asset;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred;
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License; and
  • Must be available for on-call rotations and occasional work outside regular scheduled hours to support operational requirements.


This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver's Abstract.

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Redwater, AB.
