OpportunityPeopleTec is currently seeking a Mid-Level Radar Engineer/Analyst to support our Huntsville, AL location.
We are seeking a motivated radar engineer/analyst to join a well-established team supporting the development, test, and fielding of missile defense radar systems. The selected candidate will work in an AvMC laboratory environment supporting radar performance analysis, modeling and simulation (M&S), test and evaluation, post-flight reconstruction, and integration and risk-reduction efforts.
This is a full-time, on-site position at a government customer location. The selected candidate will collaborate with Government customers, Missile Defense Agency (MDA) stakeholders, program offices, and radar development prime contractors.
Duties:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining analysis tools to evaluate radar system and algorithm performance
- Performing complex analysis of radar system behavior, sensor data, and algorithm performance
- Providing subject-matter expertise in critical radar functions, including acquisition, scheduling, tracking, discrimination, advanced functions, and system-level interactions
- Investigating technical issues, conducting root-cause analysis, and developing practical solutions to complex radar-system problems
- Supporting radar performance analysis, M&S, post-flight reconstruction, integration, and risk-reduction activities
- Applying systems engineering principles and methods to assess radar performance and system-level behavior
- Analyzing, documenting, and communicating technical findings, results, risks, and recommendations
- Developing reports and briefings that clearly explain complex radar behavior to technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborating across multiple concurrent technical efforts with internal team members, Government customers, program offices, and prime contractors
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sensor-level and/or system-level data analysis
Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis, data visualization, signal and data processing, electromagnetics, and/or systems engineering using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools
Experience developing, improving, or maintaining complex analysis tools using MATLAB
Experience in radar analysis, radar systems engineering, and/or radar test and evaluation
Ability to investigate technical problems, conduct root-cause analysis, summarize results, and develop effective recommendations
Ability to develop and contribute to technical reports and briefings for a broad range of audiences
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across multiple projects and technical efforts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel up to 10%, as required

- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
Desired Skills:
Experience with the AN/TPY-2 terminal-mode radar
Experience supporting radar signal detection or injection hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) systems
Experience with C, C++, and/or Ada programming languages
Experience with Linux/UNIX operating systems
Experience using Microsoft Office applications to develop technical documentation and briefings
Experience supporting missile defense radar programs, radar integration, or tactical-system test environments
