Full Job Description
Ignite Digital Services is hiring a Data Engineer to independently build and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure in support of a large federal enterprise multi-domain data ecosystem. You will operate with autonomy, drive innovation, and contribute to mission-critical data solutions, while delivering within a larger team project management environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and core infrastructure.
  • Develop efficient data processing and transformation workflows.
  • Create and maintain data models, schemas and transformation logic to support analytics requirements.
  • Integrate diverse data sources (APIs, databases, cloud storage) into unified datasets.
  • Implement robust validation, monitoring, and observability processes.
  • Contribute to data governance, security, and automation initiatives.
  • Leverage AWS, Databricks, and related technologies for cloud-native solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security teams.

Required Skills:
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, Spark, and PySpark.
  • Experience with cloud-based ETL services (e.g. AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow, Azure Data Factory).
  • Familiarity with Databricks, Palantir, Snowflake, and data warehousing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of data orchestration and quality processes.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, Hadoop/Spark, NiFi, ELK stack or comparable technologies.
  • Data engineering certification (e.g. Azure, Google, IBM, Palantir).
  • Experience working with federal clients.

Clearance Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen, Secret or TS/SCI eligible.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience.
  • Intermediate certifications (Cloud+, GSEC, Security+, SSCP); or advanced certifications (SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, CISSP).

Work Location: National Capital Region
  • On-client site with potential for hybrid telework.

Internal Salary Guidance:
  • Maximum salary for T&M Rate card: $130,000
