Microsoft Integration Engineer

Role Overview

SecureOps is seeking a skilled Microsoft Integration Engineer with a strong security focus to manage and deploy security features within our Microsoft E5/E7 environment. This role combines hands-on technical implementation with traditional system administration, ensuring our Microsoft security stack is robust and effectively configured. You will be responsible for the architectural integrity and operational health of our Microsoft security ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration and proactive threat mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

Security Architecture & Implementation
  • Manage and deploy security features across the Microsoft E5/E7 stacks, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Purview.
  • Perform hands-on implementation and fine-tuning of security configurations and policies to address evolving threat vectors.

System Administration & Maintenance
  • Provide ongoing system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Microsoft security services to ensure high availability and compliance.
  • Ensure architectural integrity and operational health of the Microsoft security ecosystem.

Collaboration & Strategy
  • Collaborate closely with security operations and compliance teams to align configurations with organizational security policies and global standards.
  • Develop and maintain documentation regarding architectural design, configuration standards, and incident response procedures related to the MS stack.


Qualifying Skills & Requirements

Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or security engineering (exceptional candidates with 3-4 years and relevant Microsoft certifications, such as MS-500 or SC-series, may be considered).
  • Reference to verify at least one mandate acting in a consulting and/or advisory capacity.

Technical Background
  • Deep proficiency with Microsoft E5/E7 security features, specifically endpoint protection, identity management, and threat intelligence integration.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 administration practices, with a focus on security hardening and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate security requirements into technical configurations and automated workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or other dedicated cybersecurity roles, particularly in environments leveraging SIEM/SOAR.
  • Experience with Kusto Query Language (KQL) for threat hunting and report generation.
  • Relevant industry certifications beyond Microsoft (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GSEC).
