Job Description

HII's Mission Technologies division is currently seeking a Manager of Systems Applications Analyst to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Activity (DNA) Training and Readiness (T&R) systems and technical engineering requirements. The current T&R Family of Systems (FoS) includes providing Instructional Systems, Classroom Systems Design & Support for the Shore-Based Engineering and Development Support (SBEDS) Surface Training Program (STP). #LI-MJ1

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers to coordinate travel, schedule events, and manage assets.Ensure team adherence to contract scope, project milestones, and deadlines.
  • Travel up to six times per year for approximately one week per trip.
  • Coordinate scheduling changes with customers and stakeholders.Attend and actively participate in meetings; lead in-person meetings with engineers, financial sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day team operations, including workload management, task assignments, and timecard approvals.
  • Standardize project products and ensure consistent quality across deliverables.
  • Support engineering activities by providing prototyping documents and assisting in the design and development of training systems.
  • Participate in quarterly In-Progress Reviews (IPRs).
  • Conduct requirements analysis and prepare supporting documentation for new system designs.
  • Plan and coordinate development of program documentation including technical specifications such as the SEP, SRD, SRS, HRS, LCSP, CMP, RMP, SSAOM, and QMP.
  • Support the Lead System Engineer (LSE) through participation in Requirements Analysis Working Groups (RAWGs) and providing input to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Prepare illustrative materials such as drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
  • Perform quality reviews of materials and track baseline changes, ensuring proper version control in alignment with the Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
  • Manage and maintain artifact repositories, including SharePoint.Oversee development and accuracy of meeting minutes, action items, and trip reports.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or management-related field and four years of relevant progressive experience; or Master's degree in an engineering or management-related field and two years of relevant progressive experience; or High school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant progressive experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage project tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with government customers, contractors, and team members.
  • Current or active DoD Secret clearance.


Preferred Requirements

  • Five years of experience supporting engineering or management efforts within training systems programs or supervisory experience leading training systems or software development teams.
  • U.S. Navy surface combat system or shipboard training system experience (officer (LDO or CWO) or senior enlisted with technical background).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and large group settings.
  • Experience facilitating Requirements Analysis Working Groups (RAWGs).
  • Ability to anticipate government customer needs based on prior tasking and mission knowledge.
  • Experience with Agile development processes.Experience developing or prototyping training systems.Experience conducting Job Duty Task Analyses (JDTA).


Physical Requirements

They may be required to travel to military customer sites within the United States. Domestic travel may be required. They may also need to visit job sites in industrial or shipboard environments. Physical demands are minimal; lifting more than 40 pounds above three feet from floor level is not normally expected.
