Description Scope of Responsibility:The Scheduler supports the needs of the business by assessing, creating, and maintaining accurate production and shipping schedules while addressing discrepancies and making decisions in accordance with customer requirements and company objectives.
Essential Duties:- Develop and effectively communicate a master schedule and operations plan using ERP data and capacity planning techniques
- Creates and communicates daily production work priorities/schedules and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements for the facility
- Monitors performance towards established production plans and communicates relevant project information to other departments as appropriate
- Resolve schedule conflicts as they arise and prepare project recovery schedules as needed
- Develop and manage capacity planning (manpower, machinery, and materials) and scheduling tools to help identify capacity constraints
- Monitors forward load reports and schedules to recommend overtime and staffing levels for affected work areas
- Manage MRP process to convert demands into production supply orders
- Reports to management and across business functions for routine planning updates as well as anticipated constraints or interruptions in the plan
- Insures product availability for on-time shipments of all customer orders as required by sales and maintains accurate and precise constraint schedules to guarantee the highest level of throughput is realized
- Develop and monitor reporting to measure actual to planned performance
- Schedules all incoming customer sales orders while monitoring, analyzing and reporting on any deviations concerning lead times and productions rates.
- Logically and accurately schedules all finished goods and components through all phases of the manufacturing areas for both long-range and short-range production plans.
- Develops and maintains the Material Planning Schedules, long and short-range production plans, long and short-range capacity requirements, and provides liaison support between marketing and manufacturing.
- Responsible for the planning, coordinating, and the reviewing of all activities related to company goals involving production planning and scheduling to satisfy all customer requirements.
- Monitors all subordinate areas of manufacturing to effectively and promptly address all peak loads.
- Prompt resolution of Engineering Change Notices, scrapped and/or lost parts, customer improvement requests, material substitutions as necessary, and reschedules of shop loads as required.
- Communicates this information to the correct shop supervisors effectively and thoroughly.
- Possess the intuitive ability to design procedures and systems to assist all other areas in support of the System Constraint.
- Demonstrates knowledge of recruiting methodology and best practice
- Possesses excellent communication and public speaking skills
- Has ability to work well with people in a number of positions, from administration to executive employees
- Must be ready and able to travel around the state and/or country to support training sessions
- Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrates an ability to use new technology
- Has ability to motivate employees, maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude in the workplace.
- Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements:- Two years Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree Preferred
- Minimum three years manufacturing experience
