Job DescriptionBAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking a financial planning and analysis manager to join our Space and Mission Systems (SMS) sector as a Manager I - Finance, managing our operating and strategic capital plans. This key role will drive business outcomes by working with team members across the sector to support our capital planning, reporting and analysis while ensuring an efficient and effective approach to resource allocation of capital spend. A successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, drive financial and business acumen, provide consistency through efficient process and tools, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do:- Be responsible for managing and analyzing Space & Mission System (SMS)'s operating and strategic capital plans.
- Coordinate and support the annual and quarterly capital process, budget development and reviews.
- Lead key capital meetings and presentations to the SMS Executive Team.
- Manage supporting schedules and reports of committed, proposed and pending capital projects.
- Review inputs from the capital team and provide cashflow, balance sheet net book value and depreciation forecasts.
- Facilitate communication and reporting on capital to the SMS Executive Team and BAE Systems, Inc.
- Consolidate capital reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis with the capital team.
- Support business partners in preparation and review of capital investment or strategic opportunities with financial modeling, negotiation support and business case development for executive communication.
- Provide recommendations on how to improve and prioritize resources.
- Provide an understanding of the associated financial implications.
- Assist project teams and leadership to identify project requirements including cost, schedule, and technical performance implications and associated financial impacts.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the finance department, DCMA and DCAA, SBUs/SCUs and the company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Lead or contribute to new or existing policies and procedures working effectively within the broader finance and capital team.
- Provide guidance on policy and assist project management teams with developing budgets, obtaining approvals and closing out projects in alignment with policy.
- Perform or ensure controls are monitored and documented in alignment with internal policies, CAS and FAR.
- Support the development of the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal and audits associated with capital.
- Be responsible for facilitation of the capital process including management of the related systems and tools.
- Raise the financial acumen of the broader capital and finance team through trainings, reviews and support.
- Help lead personnel in support of the capital process and strategic initiatives with appropriate training, development opportunities, timely feedback and reviews.
- Pay attention to detail and be alert to business changes and how they might affect our budgets, rates and financials in the future and communicate timely with leadership and our broader finance team.
- Maintain, review and support the development of detailed analyses of the financials including standard reporting packages.
- Provide assistance with ad hoc requests and identify information gaps with their related actions to close.
- Access and retrieve information and data from pertinent systems and reporting tools and be able to train/coach others. Collaborate with ITS and others to develop system improvements, automate process flows and create reports of actionable data.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
Required Skills and Education- BS/BA in a related field plus 8 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Master's Degree, MBA or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of related experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Ability to develop and present business cases with a detailed financial analysis to executive level audiences, including on projects and a variety of business topics.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, review and summarize data and make recommendations to management.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner.

Preferred Skills and Education- Working knowledge of the following areas: finance, accounting, business and economic principles and practices, financial modeling and Excel spreadsheets.
- Knowledge and use of key financial systems (Costpoint and Adaptive Planning).
