Full Job Description
Role description:

The MEP Coordinator will provide technical oversight and design assurance for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems during the construction phase of the RSSOM contract for the Ontario Line. Working as part of the Design Consultant's Construction Phase Services (CPS) team, the role supports the contractor, project owner, and key stakeholders by ensuring that installed MEP systems align with the approved design intent, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

The MEP Coordinator will review contractor submissions, provide technical interpretation of design documentation, and support the resolution of engineering issues encountered during construction. The role also supports system integration, testing, and commissioning activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams including civil, architectural, and rail systems disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery of MEP systems across project facilities and infrastructure.

Role accountabilities:

The MEP Coordinator will ensure that construction activities related to MEP systems are carried out in accordance with approved design documents, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards. The role will provide interpretation and clarification of design intent to support construction activities and will review contractor submissions such as shop drawings, technical documentation, and method statements to assure compliance with project requirements.

The role will also review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and engineering change proposals related to MEP systems, identifying potential technical risks, deviations, or non-conformances. The MEP Coordinator will coordinate closely with civil, architectural, and rail systems disciplines to support the resolution of multidisciplinary design and installation conflicts encountered during construction.

In addition, the role will provide technical guidance during installation and integration of MEP systems and participate in coordination meetings with the contractor, project teams, and stakeholders. The MEP Coordinator will also support the review of testing and commissioning plans and assist in resolving technical issues identified during system start-up and integrated system testing.

Experience working on major infrastructure or transit projects will be considered an asset. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of MEP systems integration, construction processes, and the review of technical documentation and contractor submissions.
