POSITION: MEMBER SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR
Start Date: July 20, 2026
Duration of Appointment: Full-Time, Temporary (cover until February 2028)
Salary: $80,167.10 (Start: 10/01/25 - 09/30/26 - pursuant to Appendix A of the UBCP/ACTRA / Unifor 3000 Collective Agreement.

UBCP/ACTRA is seeking a Member Services Administrator to join our team.

Working in a collaborative team environment and reporting to the Manager of Engagement, the Member Services Administrator is responsible for addressing the administrative needs of the department. This includes handling member request and inquiries, processing member applications and work permit refunds, administering the annual member dues payment process, assisting with issuing tax receipts, as well as supporting with member engagement and education programs.

This role will engage members through various methods to help increase the involvement, awareness, and education of the UBCP/ACTRA membership. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, type a minimum of 50 wpm, be proficient with the MS Suite, have extensive experience in a customer service-oriented environment and be comfortable engaging with others on a daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receives calls and visits from membership applicants, evaluates qualifications, communicates criteria and arranges completion of Membership Applications.
  • Processes applications and initiations including receipt of payments.
  • Signs up new and renewing Members and Apprentice Members, consistent with UBCP/ACTRA policy.
  • Hands out appropriate documentation, including the UBCP/ACTRA Benefits material, UBCP/ACTRA Bylaws, ACTRA Constitution and By-Laws, and orientation material.
  • Process withdrawal, suspension and resignation of members.
  • Responds to Membership inquiries.
  • Generates Membership cards and Membership lists.
  • Provides personal work histories to individual Members on request.
  • Processes dues, penalties and past due collections and related transactions and inquiries.
  • Processes and verifies all work permit refunds.
  • Processes all dues notices and payments and assists in issuance of tax receipts.
  • Provides payroll companies with up-to-date membership list on a weekly basis.
  • Assists in mail outs, as required.
  • Attends Membership Meetings as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned form time-to-time by the Employer.
  • Reception relief as required.
  • Reports to the Employer.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Experience Requirements:
  • Educational background and industry-related knowledge and experience will be considered in assessing applicants in accordance with Article 13.03 of the UBCP/UNIFOR Collective Agreement.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a member based and/or customer service-oriented environment.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Keyboard minimum 50 WPM.

  • Intermediate computer skills using MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Sensitivity and judgment in the handling of confidential information.

OTHER

HOURS OF WORK:
  • 5 days per week (35 hours). Regular office hours M-F 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.


SALARY:
  • This position has a current annual salary of $80,167.10 (start band - 10/1/25 - 09/30/26) pursuant to Appendix A of the UBCP/ACTRA/Unifor 3000 Collective Agreement.
