Reports to: Supervisor, Interventional Radiology
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: $39.20 - $58.80 per hour
Shifts: Rotating 8 hour shifts across weekdays & evenings. On-Call shifts as needed
Status: Permanent Full Time

Interventional Radiology is a state-of-the-art specialty that combines advanced imaging to perform life-changing, minimally invasive procedures across the whole body-transforming patient care without traditional surgery. The team is made up of nurses, medical radiation technologists, interventional radiologists, surgeons, and anesthetists who all work together to provide incredible patient care.

Duties
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to perform Interventional Radiology procedures using advanced systems and equipment in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
  • Provide exceptional care to patients, families and caregivers while adhering to Medical Imaging department and UHN policies and best practices
  • Effectively communicate with inter-professional and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting
  • Participate in professional development, teaching and educational activities, and mentoring, as required
  • Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases, as required


Qualifications
  • CMRITO registration
  • CAMRT registration, preferred
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
  • Related technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
  • Current enrollment in/completion of the CAMRT Interventional Radiology Specialty certificate program, an asset
  • Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
