Full Job Description
Position Overview
The client is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership at Packard Mental Health Center. Under the administrative direction of the Hospital Administrator, the Medical Director will supervise medical staff, oversee the quality of psychiatric care, direct medical treatment programs, develop and implement clinical policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with applicable medical, ethical, licensing, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise psychiatrists and other medical staff.
Direct, plan, and oversee psychiatric treatment programs and individual care services.
Maintain and improve the overall quality of clinical care.
Develop, implement, and monitor medical policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with medical ethics, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Maintain regulatory readiness for agencies such as client, CMS, and The Joint Commission.
Evaluate clinical interventions and implement improvements when necessary.
Monitor clinical staff performance and provide leadership for staffing and development.
Oversee clinical staffing levels and monitor overtime utilization.
Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Submit weekly invoices for services performed.

Required Qualifications (MANDATORY)

Current Illinois Physician License to practice medicine.
American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Certification in Psychiatry, or equivalent.
Minimum three (3) years of substantive medical administrative experience directing, planning, and evaluating a medical/clinical program.
Experience supervising and coordinating multidisciplinary professional staff.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across professional disciplines.
Ability to successfully complete:
o License verification

o Controlled substance registration verification
o AMA/AOA profile review
o OIG Medicare/Medicaid sanctions review

Must submit an updated resume meeting all minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as a Medical Director or psychiatric clinical leader in a state psychiatric hospital, behavioral health facility, or similar inpatient psychiatric setting.
Experience with hospital accreditation and regulatory compliance (CMS, The Joint Commission).
Executive-level leadership experience in behavioral health or psychiatric services.
Experience managing quality improvement initiatives and clinical operations.
