Job DescriptionPosition Summary Lead, evaluate, design, and engineer projects and systems to specification on projects ranging from new design/build to rehabilitation of existing facilities and systems. Provide ongoing technical guidance and engineering issue resolution as needed.
Position Details- Performs complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection or other systems.
- Performs complex calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads, equipment
- selection and sizing, friction loss calculations, hydraulic calculations, etc.
- Develops standards, methods, processes and procedures for reviewing, evaluating and
- inspecting designs.
- Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and identify the most efficient and acceptable solution.
- Directs the workflow of less-experienced engineers on assigned projects. Mentors and
- provides guidance on designs and technical issues.
- Writes technical narratives in response to RFIs.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
- Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Mentors less experienced engineers.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- PE License required
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of applicable systems design, such as fire suppression, HVAC, plumbing, etc., as well as
- general understanding of system operations.
- Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office Products, including Excel
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including CAD drawings, Blueprints, Submittals, etc. Ability to work at a computer terminal with mouse and keyboard for several hours per day. Ability to visit job construction areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipe work and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to construction materials and equipment.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For California this ranges from $118,119.00 - $144,368.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
