Full Job Description
What you will do
CenterLine (Windsor) Limited is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, reliable individual, to fill the position of Mechanical Machine Tool Builder responsible for the building and commissioning of tools and machines to blueprint specifications, utilizing work instructions and part lists. This position reports to a Mechanical Build Supervisor.

What we're looking for
MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Machine, fit, and assemble component parts and precision tooling, with a focus on quality, accuracy, and timeliness, to build special-purpose machinery, robotic cells, and factory automation projects.
  • Provide support in coordinating, as directed and approved by the supervisor, the activities involved in mechanical build, bench assembly, floor assembly, and integration of robotic work cells, ensuring that quality products are built safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Set up and operate various machine tools, including manual lathes and small mills, applying knowledge of mechanical mechanisms, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to support the assembly team.
  • Understanding of part development and its application to MIG and resistance spot welding processes, or the willingness and ability to develop this knowledge through training and practical experience.
  • Ability to lead and manage projects ranging from small to large in scope and from medium to high in complexity, or willingness and ability to develop these skills through training, coaching, and practical experience.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment with mechanical assembly personnel, pipe fitters, electricians, programmers, and other departments to successfully complete project in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Preview projects at customer site to gain knowledge for planning purposes (i.e. design, install, subcontractors).
  • Attend project related meetings.
  • Provide documented project status weekly updates.
  • Ensure that all print updates are completed.
  • Execute prototypes to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
  • Perform floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper sequence in accordance with established procedures, and provide other departments with the tooling required to complete their tasks according to schedule.


What you need to succeed
  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Mold assembly, tool assembly or tool maintenance experience required.
  • A solid understanding of the functionality of welding and metal working equipment is an asset.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to travel in Canada, USA, and Mexico, required.

In addition to a competitive salary and benefits, employees will work in a clean, air-conditioned plant, receive overtime pay after 40 hours and per diem if scheduled for out-of-town travel.

Wage Range: $26.00 - $52.00 / hour - commensurate with experience.
