About the job you are considering We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Abaqus FEA Modeler to join our engineering team onsite in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality finite element models, performing geometry preparation, material definition, advanced meshing, and supporting simulation activities using Abaqus. The role requires expertise in finite element modeling techniques, meshing best practices, structural and thermal analysis, and experience with NX CAD for geometry cleanup and model preparation.
Your Role - Develop detailed finite element models using Abaqus CAE for structural, mechanical, and thermal simulations.
- Perform geometry cleanup, defeaturing, model simplification, and preparation using NX CAD and other preprocessing tools.
- Create high-quality meshes utilizing advanced meshing techniques and best practices to ensure simulation accuracy and efficiency.
- Execute pre-processing and post-processing activities for complex FEA simulations.
- Define and implement material models based on laboratory testing data and engineering requirements.
- Apply manual and automated meshing techniques, including scripting for element grouping, set creation, and keyword management.
- Troubleshoot model quality, simulation convergence issues, and computational performance challenges.
- Interpret simulation results and provide actionable engineering recommendations.
- Collaborate with design, product development, and engineering teams to support product validation and optimization.
- Document analysis methodologies, assumptions, results, and recommendations in technical reports.
- Stay current with industry trends, simulation technologies, and FEA best practices.
Your Skills and Experience - Candidates with working knowledge of ANSA, HyperMesh, scripting, and automation tools will be highly preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Aerospace Engineering OR Related Engineering Discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Abaqus CAE modeling and simulation and Structural and thermal analysis

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is:$82,082 - $193,440/Year
