Mechanical Engineering Manager

Location: San Antonio, TX

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and execution of custom mechanical systems supporting mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering activities related to industrial enclosures, integrated assemblies, generator enclosures, and power distribution systems while driving technical excellence, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capabilities, deep mechanical design expertise, and experience supporting custom engineered products within industrial, power, or mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of industrial control panel enclosures, skids, cabinets, generator enclosures, and integrated mechanical assemblies
  • Oversee the design and execution of custom enclosure and power distribution system projects from concept through production
  • Maintain, improve, and standardize internal engineering processes, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Drive engineering schedules, coordinate technical resources, and support project milestone execution
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide mentorship and guidance to engineers and designers
  • Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, manufacturability, quality, and standardization
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate across disciplines to optimize structural integrity, HVAC integration, cooling systems, and environmental performance
  • Specify materials and mechanical components based on geographic, environmental, operational, and customer requirements
  • Develop and review engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and technical packages
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations
  • Serve as a primary technical interface with customers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support manufacturing, testing, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as needed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting custom mission-critical enclosures, generator enclosures, fuel tanks, or related systems
  • Strong expertise in mechanical design within industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or mission-critical construction environments
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD 3D, and related engineering design software
  • Strong understanding of structural systems, HVAC integration, fabrication, and manufacturability principles
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience supporting UL-listed products or systems
  • Experience with power distribution modules, E-Houses, switchgear enclosures, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and compliance requirements related to industrial enclosure systems
  • Experience supporting high-voltage, power generation, or data center infrastructure projects
