This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
As part of a talented and hardworking team of engineers, you will work on designing and developing key mechanical ground systems for Blue Origin's launch site at LC-36 (Cape Canaveral, FL). You'll have the unique opportunity to be part of a great team building the ground mechanical and structural systems and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) for Blue Origin's rockets.
Responsibilities:- Create 3D CAD models, detailed engineering schematics, and technical drawings for mechanical components.
- Build and evaluate physical prototypes, conduct tests, and compile performance data.
- Prepare technical reports, update bills of materials (BOMs), and maintain clear documentation for design changes.
- Perform basic stress analyses, tolerance stack-ups
Minimum Qualifications (required): - Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role: (0-3 years Level 1 Manufacturing Engineer, 3+ years Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer, 5+ years Level 3 Manufacturing Engineer, 8+ years Sr.)
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred but usually not strictly required
- Proficiency in CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA) and familiarity with FEA/CFD simulation tools
- Understanding materials, thermodynamics, kinematics, and manufacturing processes..
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired: - Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Experience in PTC Creo/Windchill.
