In this role you will support the engineering team as a Certified Responsible Engineer (CPE) delegate for the divert and attitude control system of the Next Generation Interceptor by conducting on-site integration including design, development, manufacturing, test, and integration for flight as well as ground systems.
Your duties will include responsibility for subcontractor interface, design, manufacture, procurement and test for propulsion hardware. This job requires coordinating with customers, suppliers, test facilities, and other related fields including manufacturing, subcontracts, quality, structure design, avionics, controls, stress and thermal analysis, systems engineering, and integration with affected subsystems and facilities. Other duties may include:
Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, and design of propulsion components
Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution
Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
Participate in development of system and interface requirements
Participate in shop floor and production hardware processing on-site at partner facilities. Provide input to process planning, support production meetings, and work with supply chain to assure that design requirements are met.
Support Subsystem Integration
Perform technical evaluations on supplier proposals and review supplier data submittals
Respond to Vendor Requests for Information or Change
Evaluation and dispositioning of nonconforming propulsion hardware
Ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.
Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Experience with major test and integration campaigns
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills- Strong understanding of propulsion/energetic system design, development, manufacture, test, and/or data acquisition and analysis
- Understanding of and experience with attitude control systems or guidance / control interfaces
- Ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems
- Hands-on hardware experience with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems - in a test, production, or operations capacity
- Prior integration of complex systems
- Advanced degree in technical field
- Existing DoD security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
