Grand Prairie is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer - Product Engineering to support product maintenance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of Panelboards (UL67) and Switchboards (UL891). This role focuses on sustaining existing products, ensuring compliance, resolving field and manufacturing issues, and driving reliability and cost improvements.
You will make an impact by: Product Maintenance & Issue Resolution - Investigate field, factory, and supplier issues
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support failure analysis using test data and inspections
Engineering Changes & Compliance - Create and manage ECO/ECN changes
- Ensure compliance with UL standards and product certification
- Apply standard processes (8D, PPAP, deviations) to evaluate changes
- Maintain BOMs and product data in SAP and PLM systems
Continuous Improvement - Drive cost reduction and product robustness improvements
- Support value engineering based on field and manufacturing feedback
Manufacturing & Supplier Support - Resolve production and supplier-related issues
- Ensure designs are manufacturable and aligned with processes
Testing & Validation - Support and interpret thermal and electrical testing
- Validate design changes with test labs
CAD & Product Definition (CREO) - Maintain and update 3D models, assemblies, and drawings in CREO
- Implement engineering changes in CAD and ensure alignment with BOMs
Digital & AI Tools - Use digital tools and AI-assisted analysis to identify trends, support root cause analysis, and improve engineering efficiency
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - BSME or similar
- 2-5 years in product, sustaining, or manufacturing engineering
- Strong CREO experience (modeling, assemblies, drawings)
- Experience managing BOMs/materials in SAP or similar ERP
- Familiarity with engineering changes and root cause analysis
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with panelboards, switchboards, or similar equipment
- Knowledge of UL67, UL891, and NEC
- Exposure to manufacturing processes and electrical testing

The pay range for this position is $75,684 - $158,263 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
