Position SummaryOdyssey has an exciting opportunity for a
Journeyman Mechanical Engineer supporting an Air Force acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Armament Directorate Munitions Division (AFLCMC/EBH) at Hill Air Force Base, UT. In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide mechanical engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle to ensure weapon systems, subsystems, and support equipment meet program objectives for cost, schedule, performance, and compliance.

Hill AFB, UT.
ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but not limited to: - Provide mechanical/aerospace/materials engineering support across the acquisition, development, and sustainment lifecycle.
- Apply advanced engineering principles to ensure technical efforts align with program objectives, cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
- Assist with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and technical recommendations supporting system and equipment performance.
- Support planning and execution of complex engineering tasks involving:
- Statics, Dynamics, Tribology
- Mechanical wear, Fatigue, Corrosion
- Fluid dynamics, Thermodynamics
- Assist in the generation and interpretation of technical data packages, including 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Support testing, evaluation, life prediction, and standardization of materials and material properties used in engineering design.
- Provide technical inputs to briefings, technical reviews, and program documentation in support of Government decision-making.
- Collaborate within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support mission execution and program success.

Secret clearanceEducation: Bachelor's degree in related discipline from an ABET-accredited engineering program and 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in related discipline from an ABET-accredited engineering program and 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Air Force or DoD acquisition programs
- Experience supporting weapon system development and/or sustainment environments
- Strong experience interpreting technical drawings and models in support of engineering decisions
Technical Skills- Mechanical engineering fundamentals (Statics, Dynamics, Wear, Fatigue, Corrosion, Tribology)
- Fluid dynamics and thermodynamics analysis
- Technical data package review (2D drawings, 3D models)
- Materials engineering concepts including life prediction and standardization
- Engineering support for acquisition, development, and sustainment programs
Interpersonal Skills- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in IPT environments
- High attention to detail and ability to support multiple priorities
