Responsibilities

Full Job Description
Our Dallas office is adding due to growth! Our engineers reverse engineer and look for the "why" when things fail. If you are curious, have design and/or construction experience and are looking for a subject matter expert role where you put together real world puzzles, this industry aligns with you!

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations and perform failure and accident analysis on incidents involving all types of mechanical systems including natural gas, boilers, pressure vessels, steam valves, pumps, HVAC systems, plumbing and various mechanical devices and equipment
  • Perform field investigations and perform forensic engineering & failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic systems, etc.
  • Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
  • Responsible for retention and development of client relations
  • Prepare oral and written reports in layman's terms that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
  • Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance
  • Regular and predictable presence at work
  • Other related duties as assigned


Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of post-academic work experience
  • P. E. registration through testing is required

  • Must possess strong writing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Public speaking experience a plus


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site
  • Ability to drive in all conditions
  • Ability to fly on airplanes

  • Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications
