Full Job Description
Job Summary:

Seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong focus on precision engineering to provide detailed mechanical designs and hands-on support for precision motion systems and custom tooling. This role involves full ownership of design, build, installation, and debugging of manufacturing equipment, working closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide detailed mechanical designs of precision motion systems, custom tooling, and fixturing.
  • Manage all aspects of equipment design, build, and debugging.
  • Offer hands-on mechanical support during installation, start-up, and troubleshooting of fiber/connector manufacturing process equipment.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, and operations.
  • Apply mechanical principles in mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design for equipment development and operation.
  • Verify equipment builds and layouts against design drawings.
  • Resolve installation or build discrepancies by working directly with internal engineers and vendors.


  • Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (required).
  • Minimum of 10 years of mechanical equipment design experience (non-negotiable).
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of precision engineering principles.
  • Proven experience designing and building precision motion systems.
  • Competency in structural FEA analysis.
  • Experience with design, installation, start-up, and debugging of robust mechanical equipment for manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
