TITLE: Mechanical Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of our plastic manufacturing processes and equipment. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, a strong background in plastic manufacturing, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering within the plastic manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, molding processes, and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and Development:- Design and develop new plastic manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for plastic products and machinery.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new projects.
Process Optimization:- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:- Oversee the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
Quality Assurance:- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis for product defects and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Project Management:- Manage engineering projects from conception through completion.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Prepare and present project reports, including timelines, budgets, and progress updates.
Research and Innovation:- Stay updated with the latest advancements in plastic manufacturing technology.
- Conduct research to develop innovative solutions for manufacturing challenges.
- Evaluate and recommend new materials, equipment, and technologies for adoption.
