Job Description:

Position Summary
We are looking to strengthen the engineering group within the product R&D organization and have an opening for a Mechanical Engineer. Projects range in size from designing small mechanisms and test fixtures to more complex full machine and system designs. In this position, you will be responsible for a number of concurrent projects or tasks including customer research, design, build, test, reporting, and optimization, while meeting design specifications and the project schedule. You will work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment with frequent interaction with other multi-disciplined engineers, team members in other departments, and vendors and suppliers.

Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering with 3-6 years of experience in the design and development of electromechanical products.
  • Experience in machine design that has incorporated machine elements, structural components, kinematic principles and/or mechanisms, electromechanical component packaging, design for cost, and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience designing basic mechanical mechanisms and assemblies.
  • Proficiency with CAD and FEA design software such as SolidWorks (or equivalent), GD&T, BOMs, mechanical drawings, ECOs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, casting, injection molding, 3D printing, finishing, material selection, fastening, and assembly operations.
  • Ability to contribute to and refine new design concepts by incorporating customer feedback, requests, and pain points.
  • Ability to collaborate with other functional groups such as marketing, manufacturing, and service to incorporate their requirements into the final design.
  • Familiarity with design verification and testing activities, including setting up and conducting tests, data acquisition, data analysis, and documentation of results.
  • Basic understanding of related disciplines (electrical, firmware, software) sufficient to support product development.
  • Proven strong attention to detail, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to create, collaborate, and work within team environments.
  • Familiarity with the product development and launch stage-gate process, including contributing to deliverables from concept through launch.

Compensation Information:
