What You Will Do
You will perform mechanical design, development, analysis and documentation of components and assemblies in accordance with system requirements
You will provide support to production and suppliers during product integration
You will interface with the broader organization to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges. This can include engineering managers, engineers, designers, and structural/thermal analysts, other disciplines, program management, suppliers, and external customers
You will support and participate in reviews and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions
You will apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment

Qualifications You Must Have
Experience designing and developing hardware, with some exposure to the different phases of product development (concept design, detailed design, production, product support)
Experience in mechanical design, product development, material selection, and manufacturing processes
Experience with CAD design tools and associated product data management tools
Experience solving technically challenging problems within aggressive timelines
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field

Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, circuit card assemblies, structural components, equipment packaging and layout, and military defense systems
CREO CAD system experience and PDM or similar product data management tools
Previous experience with structural and/or thermal analysis using ANSYS, Flotherm and/or other analytical tools
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ASME Y14.5
Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude
Prior defense industry experience, designing and solving problems for high reliability systems operating within harsh military environments
Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications
Experience diagnosing and resolving hardware issues during prototyping, production and test
ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or HIGHER
Advanced degree in mechanical engineering

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
