Job Summary

Mazzetti's Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Consulting Engineering Practice is dedicated to designing high performance, resilience, and sustainable solutions for the built environment, with a keen focus on Healthcare and Infrastructure projects. Our team of experts combines technical excellence with a collaborative, client-focused approach to deliver exceptional outcomes. To that end, we are currently in immediate need of the professional services of a Mechanical Engineer II to help our company provide our clients with expert level mechanical engineering services. The Mechanical Engineer II will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide analysis, guidance, and recommendations for the design and performance of mechanical systems. The Mechanical Engineer II will help design and assess mechanical systems and supporting design teams to deliver high-performance building solutions.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced engineering evaluations of complex mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing, assessing the operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop, analyze, and validate mechanical system improvement strategies to mitigate performance inefficiencies and reduce energy consumption.
  • Develop mechanical engineering strategies that integrate efficiency optimization, system reliability, and sustainability considerations across building systems.
  • Review and assess mechanical system upgrade and modification solutions that address present performance demands and future operational objectives.
  • Define and communicate mechanical system component selections and system modification parameters to project stakeholders to ensure coordinated integration within multidisciplinary designs.
  • Develop and analyze integrated mechanical system designs to support feasibility assessments, sustainability goals, evaluation of operating condition impacts, and determination of required system modifications.
  • Apply proficiency in industry-standard engineering software-including AutoCAD and Revit-to develop and control detailed mechanical system schematics, models, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall project designs, including small utility replacement projects.


Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another closely related field.
  • 3 years' work experience as an engineer analyzing existing building conditions to develop upgrades, including for mechanical systems in healthcare and laboratory building types.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering for the state of California.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Telecommute is permitted.

Compensation: The typical salary range for a Mechanical Engineer II in San Francisco, CA is $150,654 - $151,410. We are committed to equitable pay and will evaluate final compensation based on relevant experience and skills in alignment with internal equity and market data.
