Responsibilities

  • Attend project kick-off meetings to collaborate with the design team and clients on project scope.
  • Perform site visits to document existing conditions and understand systems in scope.
  • Manage projects from inception through construction administration as needed.
  • Provide clear communication of design deliverables to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure thorough familiarity with applicable building codes for compliance.
  • Consult on mechanical equipment room sizes during design phases.
  • Produce and review HVAC Load & Energy calculations for project accuracy.
  • Design HVAC ductwork layouts and specify required equipment effectively.
  • Oversee QA/QC reviews of designers' calculations while mentoring team members.
  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and troubleshoot installation issues during construction.

Mechanical Engineer Job Summary Qualifications and Expectations: • Minimum of 10 years' experience in HVAC and/or Plumbing Building Systems Design, only considered for if experience is in the field of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Engineering. PE Licensure is required. • Expected to immediately step in to assist and provide support for all design aspects of assigned projects. • Shows a strong understanding of the Mechanical Engineering discipline and can provide immediate support for a fast-paced department. • Must have working knowledge of Revit. AutoCAD MEP is a plus. • Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, accept responsibilities and take on new challenges as presented. Job Responsibilities Expectations: • Attend Kick-off meetings with design team, clients and owner to develop a scope of work for project. • Perform Site visits to determine existing conditions and document all associated systems included in scope of work. • Provide project management from project kickoff thru construction administration, as needed • Convey all information required to internal stakeholders for submissions on all design deliverables. • Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable building codes • Must be able to provide consultation on mechanical equipment room sizes during the appropriate design stage • Must be able to produce & review HVAC Load & Energy calculations. • Understands and applies concepts of hydronic variable & constant flow systems • Must be able to design HVAC ductwork layouts, ductwork sizing and specify required equipment. • QA/QC reviews of all calculations by Designers, and provide guidance and mentoring • Respond to RFIs for the project, accurately review submittals, and solve installation issues as needed during construction
