  • Interface directly with design engineers, production staff, and quality technicians.
  • Manage internal processes such as Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and production readiness reviews.
  • Engage with customers for design confirmations and technical support.
  • Attend engineering meetings and design reviews regularly to ensure project alignment.
  • Develop test plans for new products and assist in qualifying new materials.

Full Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will be a part of the company's core Engineering team! The primary function is the mechanical design of product features, meeting performance specifications, tooling for producing the part, as well as overall project management. You'll also have the opportunity to explore new materials, improve manufacturing processes, and evaluate emerging technologies that drive product innovation. This role offers the chance to work on high-performance Brushless DC (BLDC) electric motors used in demanding applications, including satellites, aerospace systems, test equipment, and advanced medical robotics.

Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibility of taking modeled Electro-Magnetic motor designs and turning generating mechanical prints (CAD), design tooling for key production steps, determining vendors to source material, and some level of project management.
  • Need to meet tight specifications as defined by company-standards and customer requirements.
  • Direct interface with fellow design engineers, as well as production and quality technical staff.
  • Key internal processes, like Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and production readiness reviews.
  • Direct customer interface for design views, to confirm details and to provide technical support; vendor interface needed to select sources and insure specifications on material.
  • Need to attend meetings: weekly engineering meetings, schedule reviews, internal or customer-attended design reviews, and production readiness reviews.
  • Development of ancillary requirements, like new product test plans, qualifying new materials, and process development.
  • Creative freedom to investigate new methods, materials, and product design architectures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Engineering required,
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 5 - 10 years of experience
  • Must be able to create, modify and understand SolidWorks models and prints; ability to code macros for SolidWorks a plus.
  • Experience with product design, process knowledge, and overall BLDC motors is preferred
  • Well organized, attention to detail, and reliable; able to track your own project and see it through the build and customer delivery process.
  • Ability to work independently, while still being well coordinated with others in the organization.
  • Solid Works, drawings and prints, 3D printing, and mechanical skills all are a must have.
  • Experience and understanding of GD&T
