Full Job Description
The Design Engineer provides engineering support for new customer application development, new product launch, cost reductions and manufacturing improvements through collaboration with sales, engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel, suppliers and customers. Apply now!

Responsibilities:
  • Manages and coordinates the design and release to production of products, which meet customer needs and reflect current/future strategic manufacturing processes.
  • Analyzes and interprets engineering data for products and components, modifications, and changes.
  • Confer with manufacturing engineering to provide assistance in methodizing product operations, tooling requirements, feasibility of manufacture or subcontracting, labor and material cost estimates.
  • Develops and presents technical information, which aids in strategic planning initiatives.
  • Recommends resources required to enhance product performance and/or resolve design/manufacturing issues.
  • Plans and develops experimental test programs. Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Works with members of production and engineering staff to solve problems associated with design and manufacturing of products.
  • Communicates with the other engineering and customer personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
  • 5 - 10 years of work experience; knowledge of gear motors, electric motors and drives a plus
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram from and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience with mechanical motion system and motion control systems preferred.
  • Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc


Work Environment:

  • Predominately office environment with occasional exposure to the production floor and development lab.
  • While on the production floor, employee may be subjected to moving mechanical parts and may be required to put on precautionary, protective wear such as safety glasses.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Mostly office-based but may some time standing and walking on the production floor or development lab.
