Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 4

Location: IL-Peoria - Onsite

Duration: 12 months

Education & Experience Required:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical engineering or another technical or engineering discipline. 8 or more years related experience required.

Technical Skills

(Required)
  • Computer skills: MS365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)

(Desired)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.
  • Computer skills: PowerBi, PowerAutomate, Visio, MS Access

Position's Contributions to Work Group:
  • As a Manufacturing Engineer you will function as a specialist within the Peoria Proving Ground ecosystem. Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete projects.


Typical task breakdown:
  • Perform Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) for existing and new shop processes.
  • Develop detailed work instructions for existing and improved shop processes.
  • Train new experimental mechanics and develops training programs to ensure functional expertise is achieved.
  • Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.
  • Work with operations leaders and machine engineers to develop and manage projects that ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are in place to produce quality service for machine product groups.
  • Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and safety.
  • Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and safety of operations.
  • Design complex or intricate jigs and fixtures.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.
