  • Draft production master drawings as part of the design process.

  • Collect engineering performance data for marketing literature development.
  • Conduct agency testing for new products.
Full Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working under the general direction of the Engineering Manager, performs a wide variety of duties associated with the design and testing of new products for Mestex.

  • Develop of prototype drawings.
  • Assist with construction of prototypes.
  • Conduct tests to establish prototype design compliance with known standards and good engineering practice.
  • Design drafting of production master drawings.
  • Catalog and perform data entry of the bills of materials for the new product.
  • Collect engineering performance data for the final product configuration in support of marketing literature development.
  • Conduct agency testing for the new product.
  • Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher (or foreign educational equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.


  • In addition to degree, must have at least 1 year of experience in each of the following areas:


  • Using engineering principles in the design of HVAC systems including fan, blower, compressor and heat exchanger selection, sizing and design.
  • Experience with parts fabrication and shop floor support.
  • Identifying and solving equipment application problems.
  • Designing electromechanical controls based on customer specification.
  • Using 3D CAD software on sheet metal layout and design, such as Autodesk Inventor, Unigraphics, or SolidEdge.
