Design the Future of Energy as a Mechanical Design Engineer IV (Design Liaison Engineer)
  • Location: Greenville, SC | 100% Onsite
  • Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | Flexible Hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
  • Pay Rate:$61.70/hour
What You'll Do

As a Design Liaison Engineer, you will:
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain and cross-functional teams to resolve hardware non-conformances and improve overall product quality.
  • Perform engineering assessments and disposition deviating hardware using sound mechanical engineering principles.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM), lean manufacturing initiatives, and concurrent engineering efforts.
  • Drive process improvements focused on quality, cost reduction, and production efficiency.
  • Support qualification activities for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and process changes.
  • Apply engineering expertise to improve part functionality, add value, and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Action Workouts, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams on advanced processes such as castings, coatings, drilling operations, and other special processes.
  • Review engineering drawings, bills of materials, and GD&T requirements to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
  • Utilize analytical tools, FEA, solid modeling, and engineering assessments to support technical decision-making.
  • Work closely with global stakeholders to maintain production flow while ensuring the highest quality standards.
  • Help solve critical manufacturing and quality challenges involving hot gas path components and related systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience designing gas turbine hardware, rotating equipment, or similar mechanical systems, particularly hot gas path components.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, coatings, and production methods.
  • Experience dispositioning non-conforming hardware through engineering evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Solid modeling software
    • Python or analytical engineering tools
    • Engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs)
    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, continuous learner with a customer-focused mindset.
Preferred Qualifications

Standout candidates may possess:
  • Gas turbine engineering experience, specifically with Hot Gas Path (HGP) components.
  • Advanced manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Knowledge of:
    • NX
    • ANSYS Classic
    • Python programming
  • Strong understanding of mechanical stress analysis and failure mechanisms such as:
    • Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF)
    • Creep
    • Oxidation
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and special processes.
  • Proven ability to build trust and influence across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain organizations.
  • Strong presentation, teamwork, and leadership capabilities.

Pay Details: $61.70 per hour
