Job Summary

  • Seeking a System Administrator to provide IT systems support for daily operations and resolves all issues to ensure system availability and optimization
  • The Ideal candidate will
    • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, and mobile devices
    • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
    • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
    • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
    • Configure and manage LINUX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Linux systems. Experience with Windows to support Microsoft PowerBI is also very helpful
  • Create, support, and manage virtual machines
  • Manage all IAVA patches ensuring multiple SSPs remain STE/STN compliant. Work in close coordination with ISSO
  • Manage installation and configuration of software environments
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
  • Perform Data Transfer Agent (DTA) responsibilities, including reviewing, validating, documenting, and executing authorized data transfers between systems and security domains at varying classification levels

Required Qualifications

  • Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Seven (7) years experience as an SA in programs of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Four (4) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree. A Master's Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
  • Must have background supporting both Linux and Windows OS
  • Experience with software installation and configuration
  • Understanding of applying patches to systems and maintaining STE/STN compliance on SSPs
  • Security + Certification (SEC+)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS and cloud environments
  • Scripting experience (Python) is a plus

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.

The pay range for this role is:

165,000 - 185,000 USD per year (NBP)
