- Performing basic physical assessments using observation, inspection, auscultation, palpation, and percussion.
- Coordinating medical plan of care.
- Securing and evaluating medical health and developmental history of patients.
- Collaborating with the managing physicians to develop, implement, and enforce any and all patient care clinical pathways to ensure consistency in the treatment of patients.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in all aspects of the facility.
- Facilitating patient flow, communication, and problem resolution.
- Assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures.
- Serving as a resource person and role model for staff by demonstrating professionalism and leading by example.
- Encouraging participation in facilities activities.
- Writing and executing orders in accordance with legal, ethical, state, and facility standards.
- Administering medications and treatments safely and as prescribed.
- Identifying community health resources.
- Performing necessary follow-ups with patients on lab and x-ray results as directed by the physician.
- Consulting the physician in a timely manner regarding patients showing signs of instability or those who may require admission to the hospital.
- Participating in mandatory training and attending staff meetings.
- Reporting all parent/patient complaints to the manager in a timely manner to allow for appropriate action to be taken.
- Conveying respect of patient's rights and treating all patients with dignity.
- Practicing and promoting positive customer/peer relations while fostering a learning work environment.
- Maintaining a clean work environment (i.e. ensuring that the work area and staff lounge are tidy and equipment and utensils are put away at the end of each shift).
- Functioning as a supportive team member.
Be aware that we are open 365 days per year and that you must be willing to work weekends and holidays.Required Education/Experience:- Graduation from an approved Medical Physician program
- Valid license to practice as a Physician in the state of Virginia
- Valid DEA License
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Experience as a pediatric provider (required)
- Pediatric urgent care/pediatric ER (preferred)
