Job Description
The Materials Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant receipt, inventory management, and flow (internal and external) of materials, components, and services essential to TRISO-X nuclear fuel development and deployment activities. This role will also manage any TRISO-X subcontracted materials services, including 3PL and 4PL providers.

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire product flow, from receipt of materials to delivering finished goods, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and timely delivery by managing resources, inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive global Materials strategies to support TRISO-X fuel development, manufacturing, and deployment objectives.
  • Architect and establish a comprehensive logistics department from inception, encompassing all critical transportation modalities required for nuclear and non-nuclear component movement: ocean freight, air cargo, barge transport, over-the-road (OTR) asset-based carriers, and small package delivery services
  • Collaborate with IT, Supply Chain, and other business partners to ensure material flow design aligns with business objectives, process efficiencies, and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate, bid, select, and seamlessly integrate subcontract service (3PL/ 4PL) providers into TRISO-X supply chain network, optimizing reliability, cost-effectiveness, and specialized handling capabilities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities leveraging digital tools, automation, and analytics.
  • Drive change management and user adoption, including training, communications, and user documentation for materials teams.
  • Develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for the movement of non-nuclear and sensitive nuclear components, including specialized packaging, security protocols, and chain-of-custody documentation.
  • Develop and track KPIs and dashboards to monitor materials system performance and process effectiveness.
  • Display strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.


Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, management, engineering, or related business degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically, ten plus years' experience in Supply Chain or Materials function.
  • Familiarity and demonstrated success within highly regulated, nuclear or similar industry.
  • Demonstrated success in team building, materials flow management, logistics/ transportation, process improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Familiarity and demonstrated success within highly regulated, nuclear or similar industry.
  • Advanced experience in data analysis and conflict management.
  • High emotional intelligence.


Location: Oak Ridge, TN
Work Site Expectations: 5 days onsite

Travel Expectations: 10%
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation

Offers within the posted salary range are commensurate with the individual's qualifications for the position, along with a view on internal equity, market data, and room for growth. The salary range for this position is:
$100,000 - $140,000
