What you'll do:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To communicate effectively with all team members including cross-functional teams, internal customers and with external suppliers.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates, monitors quality of work and actively recognizes good performance.
• Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
• Manage team member activities including, but not limited to, vacation approvals, timecard approvals, hiring, and training.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the materials and manufacturing teams.
• Plan with information systems & technology to integrate systems required to optimize the use of MRP information that improves material flow.
• Researches, analyzes, and monitors suppliers on time delivery ability to assist company in achieving corporate goals.
• Ensures the customer is top priority and reduces shortages to meet their needs and quickly implementing corrective actions when there is a failure in the flow of materials.
• Supports annual physical inventory.
• Understand methods of converting and communicating demand requirements for materials into detailed plans and schedules for inventory acquisition.
• Controls inventory levels within the specified goals and develop creative ways to improve turns/days on hand levels. Supports reduction in inventory, excessiveness, and obsolescence.
• Manages the supplier on-time delivery evaluation program and works with the supply management team to cooperatively improve supplier on-time delivery.
• Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement projects.

What you need to be successful:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, engineering, or supply chain management (Certifications in APICS, IBF, TPS/Lean and/or Six Sigma training preferred)
• 5 years materials leadership or planning in complex/fast paced materials environment.
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, transportation, and purchasing business functions.
• Specific strong background in the management and development of the planning, logistics and inventory control processes. Capable or experience in switching to a new MRP system.
• Demonstrates proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.

• Proficient on ERP/MRP, Microsoft Office Suite and business applications - Aurora, Cori, QlikView.

• Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
