How will you make an impact?The Materials Planner III will develop the raw materials requirements plan, work with suppliers to acquire raw materials delivery commitments, and align production schedules to deliveries. The role will balance the required and available material to optimize service, working capital and material costs. This individual is encouraged to make decisions on behalf of supply planning when engaging with other functional areas (such as capacity planning, quality, procurement, manufacturing and finance). Decisions may need to be approved by a supervisor or manager if they fall outside of the predefined threshold defined by the business processes. The successful candidate for this role is an analytical problem solver and a strong communicator with an eye for detail.
What will you do:- Monitor supply plans to identify changes and to understand their impact on material requirements schedules.
- Work closely with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure proper coverage and accurate schedules.
- Adjust the delivery schedules to accommodate near-term orders that differ from the agreed sales and operations (S&OP) plan.
- Establish, maintain, and optimize critical material planning master data parameters to ensure MRP accuracy and supply continuity, including ABC classifications, safety stock levels, replenishment policies, min/max/multiple quantities, lead times, order cycle times, and lot-sizing parameters.
- Facilitate weekly supply planning meetings with key suppliers, where required, and ensure gaps between demand and supply are clearly understood and communicated, and appropriate actions are in place to resolve.
- Collaborate with critical suppliers to ensure material availability, proactively identify emerging capacity constraints and supply bottlenecks, and develop mitigation plans to minimize supply risks and maintain continuity of supply.
- Work with procurement and suppliers on refining or creating service-level agreements and supplier scorecards to measure key performance indicators such as inventory, timely delivery, availability, demand forecast accuracy, lead times, product quality issues and minimum order quantity.
- Leverage new product introduction plans from research and development and/or new product innovation teams to create material requirement plans and schedules.
- Report on back orders, short stock, excess items and slow-moving inventory to the parties concerned. Participate in problem solving activities and drive back-order reduction efforts.
- Demonstrated ability to balance increasing inventory turns, reducing waste/cost while improving customer service.
Education:- A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management focus or related field.
- Certification in CPIM or CSCP desirable.
Experience: - 5 years experience in Supply Chain: Planning or Procurement.
- 3 years experience working in a regulated CGMP manufacturing plant (preferably Pharma / Biotech / Life Sciences industries)
Skills and Abilities:- Understanding of material requirements scheduling and planning concepts.
- A strong balance of analytical skills and action orientation combined with practical business knowledge to drive sustaining results with intensity.
- Ability to use technology tools and translate data into high-level analysis to facilitate collaboration with business leaders guiding towards desired business outcomes.
- Ability to clearly communicate results of analysis in verbal and written format to different levels in the organization.
- Proficiency in SAP, JDE, or another major ERP system.
- To work independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/mentorship from manager. Ability to work well in a global organization within Operations and with external clients.
- Fluent in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word,, PowerBI and PowerPoint)

Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $75,000.00-$105,000.00.
