Position: Master Scheduler
Location: North Austin, Texas (Onsite)
Reports To: Supply Chain Planning Manager
Direct Reports: Materials Planner - Motors; Materials Planner - Fan Systems
Travel: As required, including Ramos Arizpe, Mexico
Position Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for translating customer demand, forecasts, backlog, and long-range business requirements into an executable, capacity-constrained master supply plan across Infinitum's Motor and Fan Systems operations. The role owns the Master Production Schedule and provides a forward-looking view of supply, capacity, inventory, and material constraints to support reliable customer commitments.
The Master Scheduler is the primary Supply Chain point of contact for Sales Operations / Customer Service for product availability, customer requested dates, and supply commitments. The role leads two Materials Planners located in Ramos Arizpe-one supporting Motors and one supporting Fan Systems-and serves as the focal point for coordinating supply between Motor manufacturing and the Fan Systems contract manufacturing network.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer orders, forecasts, backlog, and long-range demand into an integrated Master Production Schedule for Motors and Fan Systems.
- Review customer requirements against available inventory, manufacturing capacity, material availability, supplier constraints, and production lead times before establishing supply commit dates.
- Serve as the primary Supply Chain interface with Sales Operations / Customer Service for product availability, customer requested dates, committed dates, pull-ins, expedites, and delivery-risk communication.
- Provide realistic and executable customer delivery commitments using available-to-promise and capacity-to-promise principles; escalate requirements that cannot be supported and provide recovery or alternative scenarios.
- Review long-range demand against manufacturing capacity, labor, equipment, supplier constraints, and Contract Manufacturer capabilities; identify capacity gaps early enough to support mitigation decisions.
- Develop and maintain capacity outlooks by product family and planning horizon and support annual operating plans, forecast reviews, and long-range capacity planning.
- Coordinate supply between the Materials Planner - Motors and Materials Planner - Fan Systems to ensure Motor production supports both direct Motor demand and Fan Systems requirements.
- Establish priorities and allocation recommendations when available Motor supply cannot fully support all customer and Fan Systems requirements.
- Ensure Fan Systems motor requirements are incorporated into the Ramos Arizpe Motor production plan with sufficient lead time to support Contract Manufacturer schedules and customer commitments.
- Lead and develop the two Materials Planners; establish planning standards, priorities, operating cadences, escalation requirements, and accountability for schedule adherence and material availability.
- Review planner-generated material plans, shortage reports, inventory risks, and production schedules for alignment with the Master Production Schedule and business priorities.
- Lead cross-functional demand-versus-supply and production planning reviews with Sales Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Logistics, Import/Export, Engineering, Quality, GTM, and Finance.
- Identify supply, material, capacity, supplier, logistics, and Contract Manufacturer constraints and drive timely recovery plans, escalation, and executive visibility.
- Coordinate with Purchasing on long-lead materials and supplier constraints; with Engineering on ECO/MCO transitions and NPI; and with Logistics/Fulfillment on product availability and shipment requirements.
- Maintain and govern master scheduling parameters within ERP/MRP and planning systems, including planning horizons, lead times, production rates, capacities, lot sizes, and scheduling rules.
- Support implementation and optimization of NetSuite, Kinaxis, dashboards, reporting automation, and exception-based planning processes.
- Develop and maintain planning reports and KPIs covering customer commitments, OTIF, master schedule attainment, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, material availability, backlog, forecast alignment, and inventory health.
- Conduct root-cause analysis of missed schedules and customer commitments and drive corrective actions that improve planning reliability and execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- 7+ years of progressive experience in master scheduling, production planning, supply planning, materials planning, production control, or manufacturing supply chain.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing a Master Production Schedule in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience balancing customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability, inventory, and lead-time constraints and establishing reliable delivery commitments.
- Strong knowledge of MRP, BOMs, capacity planning, production scheduling, inventory management, ATP/CTP concepts, and supply-demand balancing.
- Experience coordinating multiple manufacturing operations, product lines, or external manufacturing partners.
- Demonstrated people leadership or experience directing planning teams and cross-functional planning activities.
- Strong ERP/MRP experience; NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar systems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis, management of large data sets, and familiar with AI tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to make and communicate supply decisions under competing priorities.
Preferred
- Experience with motors, Fan Systems, HVAC equipment, electromechanical products, electronics, or other complex manufactured products.
- Experience coordinating vertically integrated manufacturing where one operation supplies components or subassemblies to another, including Contract Manufacturers and consigned-material models.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations in the United States and Mexico.
- Experience with advanced planning systems such as Kinaxis and familiarity with Arena or another PLM system and ECO/MCO processes.
- Experience with AI tools, Power BI, DAX, and planning/reporting automation.
- APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar supply chain certification; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
