Job Title: Marketing Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Director of Marketing

Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000

Overview:

GreenWaste is searching for a creative, collaborative marketing specialist to join our expanding team during a period of company-wide growth. As a key member of the GreenWaste Marketing & Communications team, the marketing specialist is an implementer who will develop and carry out strategic paid marketing campaigns (print and digital), SEO strategies, Google Ads, and collateral development to support sales teams focused on GreenWaste's debris box, landscape materials, and construction & demolition lines of business. The specialist will manage portions of the company's websites and integration with Google Analytics to track the full customer lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, demonstrate a keen attention to detail, and be able to manage multiple projects with fluctuating priorities. The specialist will have the ability to translate marketing analytics into forward-looking strategies and creative campaigns. This role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications. Experience in waste, recycling, landscape materials, or sustainability is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement paid marketing campaigns, including via digital and traditional print channels. Manage advertising budget and work directly with external ad partners to place and track ads.
  • Write, proofread, and edit creative and industry-specific content across different owned channels:
    • Write SEO-optimized owned content (blogs, features, etc.)
    • Write paid campaign copy
    • Maintain sales collateral, including basic graphic design (one-pagers, leave-behinds, etc.)
  • Track the complete customer journey across GA4, CMS, and other relevant external sources. Establish a lead-nurturing and tracking process.
  • Manage customer notifications and marketing through an ESP (e.g. Mailchimp)
  • Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of campaigns, including but not limited to including lead data, audience analytics, and competitive insights.
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities.
  • Support event and trade show participation, including logistics coordination, planning, and implementation.
  • Understand and adhere to established brand standards
  • Coordinate closely with Communications Specialist on branding, messaging, and campaigns.
  • Partner with sales teams to craft relevant marketing materials
  • Work with external agencies and vendors to execute marketing programs.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in integrated marketing campaigns. Preference for experience marketing to C&D, contractors, and other commercial customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Skilled in writing and editing content with attention to detail
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in various marketing and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, CRM systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365), content management systems (especially WordPress), and MailChimp.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop forward-looking strategies based on marketing analytics
  • Basic to advanced graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Suite)


Language Skills:

  • Strong command of the English language, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Spanish proficiency is highly favorable


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25-30 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods
  • Occasional travel to GreenWaste sites within California
