Title of Position: Marketing Manager, Digital ProductsReports to Position: Director, Digital Content and Engagement

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Marketing Manager, Digital Products is the marketing lead for a portfolio of Carnegie Hall's digital products, primarily, but not limited to, Carnegie Hall+, podcasts, radio broadcasts, and other video, audio, and interactive products.

Carnegie Hall has always been on the forefront of digital technology in the arts and enthusiastically embraces digital platforms to help further its mission of bringing the transformative power of music to the widest possible audience. Building upon a longstanding relationship with WQXR for the Carnegie Hall Live series, in recent years, the Hall has released the If This Hall Could Talk podcast; created the Timeline of African American Music website; partnered with WBGO for an episode of Jazz Night in America and launched a robust subscription video on-demand channel, Carnegie Hall+.

This position helps support these and other media projects through exceptional marketing and content strategy skills, project management expertise, and unparalleled creative collaboration. The ideal candidate is a creative, data-savvy individual passionate about optimizing organic opportunities and creating scalable campaigns, tracking and analyzing data to determine KPIs, and adjusting strategy in real-time to optimize results and respond to emerging opportunities. They must thrive in a detail-oriented, deadline-driven environment. The role reports to the Director of Digital Content and Engagement, but works collaboratively across departments, especially with the Digital Media team.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Be the primary driver of digital product marketing campaigns and supportive content marketing efforts, both in ideation, creation, and execution. Participate in and occasionally lead creative strategy sessions to inform approach.
  • Create effective, engaging, and accessible email and social media content that refines and communicates key messages-from copywriting to asset selection; coordinate execution.
  • Adhere to a consistent brand and marketing philosophy for digital products.
  • Review campaign strategies with stakeholders to ensure cross-platform opportunities are maximized; ensure stakeholder understanding of plans, timelines, opportunities, and recommendations for iteration.
  • Collaborate with partners, artists, and other external stakeholders to develop campaigns and maximize cross-promotional marketing opportunities.
  • Ensure that Carnegie Hall digital product appearances and fulfillment across partner platforms maximize available marketing opportunities, editorial placements, and the like. Manage workflow and delivery of marketing assets to partner platforms.
  • Build organic and paid promotional strategy for each product, ensuring a content-first marketing strategy.
  • Align and coordinate media planning and purchases, as well as relationship management, with the Marketing team.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for alignment with in-person Carnegie Hall events and experiences; ensure opportunities to engage artists and audiences are optimized.
  • Manage and track budget expenditure; measure effectiveness of all marketing expenses.
  • Submit creative, web development, social media, and email requests to fulfill marketing campaign timelines. Provide effective feedback; utilize colleagues to develop solutions.
  • Develop and launch targeted lead generation campaigns to grow pool of prospective users.
  • Commission supporting content cuts and releases from content producers with clarity and specificity.
  • Work closely with Public Relations to ensure alignment with key communications efforts.
  • Track and report on campaigns, with recommendations for iteration and improvement.
  • Support live events related to digital products, such as launch parties, tapings or public screenings, through marketing and on-site activations.
  • Other projects as assigned.

  • Experience in marketing campaign development for television, film, and/or media preferred.
  • Passion for and/or interest in all genres of music, with knowledge of classical music.
  • Commitment to Carnegie Hall's mission. Five or more years of relevant experience.
